at Manchester Art Gallery
In October 2018 Manchester Art Gallery teamed up with us, Manchester Central Library, Read Manchester and Manchester Literature Festival to offer four days of free workshops to schools in the city. Writers took over the Gallery and Library spaces and used art to unlock imaginations and help children find new ways to create characters, narratives and settings.
Squad writers Andrew Cook and Lydia Allison led Key Stage 2 groups in workshops that took inspiration from pictures, and also objects in the design galleries.
The other writers taking part in the days were storyteller Felicity Goodman, writer Carole Page and playwright Charlotte Keatley.
