Embracing Absurdity Through the Prose Poem
Karishma Sangtani
Squad 10’s Karishma Sangtani is running a workshop for the Durham University Poetry Society on prose poetry and absurdity:
What is a prose poem? Why practice absurdism? In what ways can these two concepts play off one another?
This workshop led by Karishma Sangtani makes no promise to answer any of these questions conclusively, but hopes to be a space that encourages rule-breaking and imagination. Karishma Sangtani is a poet and recent graduate of Durham University. She has performed at poetry events across the U.K such as London Literature Festival, Bright Smoke and DiVerse. Her work appears in ‘SLAM! You’re Gonna Wanna Hear This’, an anthology published by Pan Macmillan. She is also a member of The Writing Squad’s most recent intake. Twitter- @karishmalily.
Tickets are free for DUPS members, and £2 for non-members. A Zoom link will be emailed closer to the time of the event. There are a limited number of tickets – so be sure to purchase one now as not to miss out!
