Betwixt and Between: Liminalities, Language, Belonging and Censorship Workshop

Glasgow Zine Library
See Map

In this poetry workshop led by Nasim Rebecca Asl, we will look at the liminal spaces we occupy by considering language – translation, lexicons and code – and censorship, self-censorship and belonging. What does it mean to be between worlds and tongues? Where does literature leave space for the self? Can we write our own spaces? We’ll read poems, write poems and play with language.

This is one of eight poetry workshops as part of the Bi+ Lines project, funded by an Arts Council England National Lottery Project Grant. This project is for people who identify under the bi+ umbrella (including, but not limited to, bisexual, pansexual, queer and questioning). Please only sign up if you identify in this way. For more information about this project and whether you “count” as bi+ (if you’re not sure, you probably do!) visit helenbowell.co.uk/bi-lines

2-4pm, 15 April 2023.
