Lauren C. Maltas
Lauren C. Maltas is a writer based in Manchester, originally from the Calder Valley. She writes on themes including memory, queerness, intimacy and food.
She was awarded second place in the Writers & Artists Working Class Writer’s Prize 2022, and in 2026 she won the Tempest Prize (New Writing North) for her work-in-progress memoir Dining Table.
Her work has appeared in Strix, Caught by the River, SAND, and Seedlings. Her work is also included in Northern Dreaming, a collection of children's stories and poetry produced in collaboration with LEEDS 2023 and The British Library.
