Emily Yates
Emily is a fiction writer from Manchester. She has completed three novels, and is currently working on a collection of literary short stories. In 2023, she began reading English Language and Literature at the University of Oxford.
Most recently, she has been commissioned to write a story about Stockport. This work will be presented at Rare Mags on 11th April and Mura Ma gallery on 20th April 2024. Her latest piece has been printed in Nosedive. In 2023 she was commissioned by Leeds Year of Culture to write a short story, which was both printed within the Northern Dreaming anthology and was adapted into a theatre performance. Her work has also been featured in the Writing Squad’s anthology, We Write the North.
In 2022 she worked as an editor for Elephant Memoirs, a publisher of personal histories.
