Celestine Stilwell
Celestine is a transmasculine poet and visual artist based in Durham, where he is the editor of the online publication Quirk!, and captain of Durham University Performance Poetry Team. There, he facilitates and supports regular workshops, leading the Durham team at UniSlam. Celestine is a nominee for the Forward Prize 2022, and his work is published in Butcher's Dog, The Gentian, and Ink Sweat and Tears, with whom he won poet of the month in May 2021. One of his poems is also featured in the upcoming debut anthology of Bullshitlit. Celestine's writing has been featured at the Ripple of Hope festival (2021) in Manchester, and he also won the 2019 Langaland Festival Spoken word position.
Celestine has worked on cross-art projects, with his poetry film being longlisted for OutSpoken (2020), and he also designed UniSlam’s 2021 Anthology cover. His first play is also set to run with a company this summer. You can find more of his visual artwork @rattatittytat on Instagram.
