Magdalena Young Poets Prize
The Squad were well represented amongst the winners of the 2021 Magdalena Young Poets Prize.
Hannah Hodgson’s poem ‘Not all Bombs get Dramatic Conclusions’ took home first prize, and Phillip Brennan’s ‘Slump City’ won him third prize. Prerana Kumar’s poem ‘Mistranslated Serenade for Every Kind of Love’ received an honourable mention from the award’s judge Fiona Benson.
There will be a virtual ceremony on 30th April, featuring readings of the prize winning poems. The event is free – to register interest in attending, email themagdalenayoungpoetsprize@gmail.com
