Lauren & Andy Ignite

We have been working with IVE again to deliver their National Heritage Lottery Fund project IGNITE which aims to revolutionise the way young people and future generations understand and appreciate Yorkshire’s industrial heritage.

At Sheffield’s Kelham Island Industrial Museum, Squad 6 grad, and publisher of Papaya Press, Lauren Vevers delivered a three day workshop making zines in response to the museum’s collection with Fruitbowl LGBTQ+ group.

At the National Coal Mining Museum coal miner’s grandson and Squad 4 grad Andy Owen Cook took a group of Wakefield’s Cathedral Academy students down the mine, worked on them with writing and collated their thoughts about mining and writing into a sound piece.

Squad Director Steve Dearden is taking part in a series of reflective labs, in which all the project partners evaluate and learn together.
