Jamal’s New Company

Jamal Gerald is now Artistic Director of a new company: Dudaan.

Their first production will be JUMBIE, a co-production with Transform Leeds, running from 23-26th March at HOME Manchester.

“An interdisciplinary performance created by a Black queer ensemble, JUMBIE is a ritual for our sickened times.

Rooted in the history and culture of Montserrat, the Jumbie dance calls on the spirits of the dead to cure illness, solve personal problems, and redress social injustice.”
