Jamal Travelling, Transformed & Published

Squad grad Jamal Gerald has received an award from the Artists’ International Development Fund, a British Council and Arts Council England initiative. He will undertake a two-week residency in Trinidad and Tobago, to develop his practice in an international context and research a new show exploring the experiences of slaves, colonialism, internalised racism and anti-blackness.

Jamal will also be collaborating with Transform over the next year, the Leeds-based festival presents theatre everywhere from arts venues to city sites and outdoor spaces. Read an interview with Jamal here.

Part of the text from Jamal’s last show, FADoubleGOT has been published in The Oberon Book of Queer Monologues, edited by Scottee.
