Join Hartlepool’s Reader-in-Residence for a chance to explore the archives at The Local and Family History Centre.

This session offers participants a unique opportunity to explore a range of archival collections, uncovering the rich and often untold stories that shape the history of our town. Through guided exploration, you will gain a deeper understanding of local heritage while engaging directly with original materials.

Alongside this, the session invites you to ‘write back’ to the archives using creative writing as a way to respond, reflect, and reimagine the past.

Designed to be welcoming and accessible to all skill levels, this session encourages curiosity, creativity, and personal expression, offering a space to connect with history in a meaningful and imaginative way.
