Dear Wife: Spring gigs

Louise Essex is celebrating 5 years of her solo folk project, Dear Wife, with a string of gigs across London and Hertfordshire in May, beginning on the 6th as support for Luke James Williams.

Dear Wife’s “beautiful” vocals (BBC 6Music) have gained her attention as an exciting voice in the contemporary UK folk scene. She weaves delicate guitar melodies under narrative lyrics in songs that “probe into wonderful and unexplored corners of human experience” (Nick Hart). Since releasing her debut EP, Folly, in 2024, she’s been working towards a debut album.
