Beth Westbrook’s play Awareness was selected as the winner of the 18-25 Scriptwriting Category in the 2021 Cheshire Prize for Literature.

The awards ceremony was held on 30th June with guest speaker Andrew Rudd. The prize was traditionally targeted at writers of prose, poetry and children’s literature, but in 2019 a new scriptwriting category was introduced in partnership with Storyhouse.

The prize is open to writers with a connection to the historic Cheshire boundary (including the Wirral), and winners receive a cash prize and the opportunity for future publication.
