Nathan Dunn
Nathan Dunn is a multi-discipline creative active in Sheffield, Liverpool and other parts of the North. With two degrees in theatre-based performance, Nathan spent his most recent years researching solo performance with music as part of an post-graduate MA at Liverpool John Moores University. A graduate of The Everyman Theatre’s young writers programme, Nathan has experience writing original work for stage and also in adaptation. Nathan’s directed and performed in stage productions, reviewed stage productions and made short films of various styles over the years. He has regularly been a contributor to the National Student Drama Festival as a writer and filmographer. In 2025, Nathan began exploring arts journalism, capturing and writing about live music and theatre for Exposed Magazine and others.
Nathan is interested in themes of class, gender, sexuality and how the amalgamation of inherent characteristics inform group and individual identity. They also explore work around the concept of the self and autobiography.
Since last taking to the stage in late 2022, Nathan has been reworking his project ‘TRAP’, a multimedia show with music that interrogates working-class maleness and the interplay between identity and environment. The project is set to be composed of a full-length album, a live theatrical production, a film accompanied by a series of short films and an illustrated textbook.
Nathan publishes work under the name HEADLOSS, which operates as his creative identity and theatre company.
Original music releases from HEADLOSS in 2024 include tracks ‘I Miss You (Like Hell), ‘I miss u (like hell) – ambient mix’ and ‘selfportraiT’. Further releases, as well as live shows, are planned for 2025.
