Martha Jamieson
Martha Jamieson is a Playwright, Theatre maker, Director and

hopeful, sometimes immersive, that poses big questions and
explores the beautiful simplicities of what it means to be human. Her practice as a Theatre maker centres play, care, accessibility, and lived experience.
Martha was Assistant Director of Jekyll and Hyde by Evan Placey at The Everyman Playhouse (July 2026). Her play SPINSTER, a participatory comedy was performed at the Unity Theatre spring 2026 as part of Up Next Festival. Martha is a graduate of 20 Stories High’s Writer’s Lab where she developed her play Sunny Side Up (rehearsed reading The Playhouse Studio Jan 2026) and of Young Everyman Playhouse’s Writer’s Programme where she developed her play SPINSTER (performed at The Everyman EV1 October 2025). Martha’s play Olive Branch was performed at Skyglow, Theatre in The Rough’s ecology and astronomy project (Sudley Walled Garden August 2024). Martha is currently writing Playdough, a play about two Young Adult Carers who meet on a creative programme. Martha was the recipient of Paperwork Theatre’s Tea Cup Commission to further develop Playdough.
As a Theatre maker, Martha works with a multiplicity of communities. Martha is employed by Odd Arts, a Manchester-based Theatre Charity supporting people facing discrimination and disadvantage through creativity. At Odd Arts, Martha runs Second Act, a community drama group for adults with experience of homelessness. She wrote and co-directed RaPUNzel, an Odd Arts pantomime with Second Act last year. Martha has written and directed forum theatre plays for Odd Arts which have toured schools across the North West.
Martha is currently working with The Writing Squad as part of the Salford 100 to deliver writing workshops to different community groups across Salford. Content for these writing workshops is then being captured in murals in collaboration with Grit studios which will appear across all boroughs of Salford.
Martha has just been appointed Assistant Director of Stories We Tell, an immersive, multi-disciplinary walk through Liverpool with Breaking Barriers.
