Fish Island Books welcomes Dilettante — the sardonic, maximalist art-pop project of multi-instrumentalist Francesca Pidgeon — for an intimate in-store acoustic set and book chat.

Dilettante’s album Life of the Party is full of wry observations about social pressure, neurodivergence, and the absurdity of other people’s expectations. In celebration of her new single out end of May “Funny Boy” about the time she was dating a stand up comedian, we’ll be talking about why comedy might be one of the most honest tools in art, in music, in fiction, and in life. With our love of darkly comic novels we can’t wait to chat about the importance of including light in the dark.
