Ellen grew up in Sheffield and studied English and Classics at the University of Bristol. She is passionate about writing for teenagers and particularly loves fantasy, science fiction and genre mashups. She writes around a day job in tech and a busy family life with small children.

Her upcoming debut Young Adult Fantasy, THE SEEKER AND THE SHADE, will be published in May 2026 by Guppy Books, after she won their open submission competition. She is represented by Bryony Woods of BWLA.
