We’re Looking for a New Coordinator

We’re Looking for a New Coordinator

We’re looking for a new Coordinator to join our Core Team!

We’re looking for someone with an interest in writers and new writing, someone who is self-motivating and independent, but likes working as part of a committed, creative and flexible team. If this sounds like you – please apply!

The Squad Coordinator supports our Board and Core Team by providing the logistical support for all our workshops and meetings. They oversee our comms, keep tabs on our finance and data, and are charged with always looking for new ways we can improve our performance as an organic, fluid, mostly virtual organisation.

Full details of this freelance post, which pays £8720 for 1.5 days a week over a year, can be found here.

You’ll be joining current Core Team: Director Steve Dearden, playwright and scriptwriter Emma Adams, poet Malika Booker and poet and maker Stevie Ronnie.

And you’ll be taking over from our current coordinator Billie Collins, who is moving on to take a new role in another organisation. She had this to say about being Coordinator:

“Working for the Squad has been more than wonderful. As a grad, I know just how important the Squad is, and have felt very lucky to help shape their work as Coordinator. Steve and the team have been endlessly supportive and encouraging, I’ve learned bucketloads and it’s been a joy to get to know so many brilliant writers and shout about their work.”

Director Steve Dearden said:

“Billie has made an immense contribution during her time as Administrator/Co-ordinator. She took the job way beyond the functional and contributed hugely to the thinking and leadership of the Squad, she has transformed our external communications and created another point of contact for Squad writers. We are all going to miss her.”

Full details can be found here.

The closing date for applications is noon on 11th October.

Interviews will take place in York on Thurs 20th Oct (tbc).

We will reply to all applications and we will cover travel and any access costs.
