Ellen Waters
Ellen Waters is a Manchester-born poet whose work has been featured in Viral Verses: Art in Exceptional Times, Indigo Literary Journal, and JFA Human Rights Journal. She is a Poet-in-Residence for The Poetry Business and a member of Roundhouse Poetry Collective. In 2026, she was commissioned to write and perform a piece as part of Boy Blue's PROJECT rEVOLUTION at the Roundhouse. She has worked for multiple literature charities and is dedicated to expanding access in the arts.
She has worked on projects with the Yorkshire Museum and the National Railway Museum, facilitated workshops at Write the World, co-edited two magazines platforming Northern creatives, and written with The Poetry Society and New Writing North.
She studied at the University of York, finishing with an exploration of Olivia Gatwood's poetry through an intersectional feminist lens. Ellen's work is preoccupied with landscapes, liminal spaces, mutable memory, and embodied experiences of womanhood.
