Prerana Kumar and Fahad Al-Amoudi have both been shortlisted for the 2022 White Review Poet’s Prize.

The Prize is run in partnership with CHEERIO, and spotlights poets who are creating their debut pamphlet or collection. This year’s judges are Rachel Long, Nisha Ramayya and Jay Gao. They will assess the portfolios of eight shortlisted poets, and select a winner who will receive £2,500 as well as professional and editorial advice, and publication of their entry in The White Review.

The prize aims to actively encourage work exploring and expanding the possibilities of page poetry as a form. You can read a sample from Fahad’s submission, ‘The Old Justice’ here, and a sample from Prerana’s submission, ‘Where My Body is a Cactus’ here.

The winning poet will be announced on the 10th of March during an event at Reference Point. Tickets are available here.
