Northwich Pride Performance and Workshop

Some of the Voicebox crew go on tour to Northwich Pride, and Squad writer Holly Thorpe has a set! Want to hear about being outed by your own supernatural fan account, or mullet dreams, or food disasters? Come to the main stage at Northwich Pride at 2.

Afterwards, at 2.45, she will be facilitating a poetry workshop on the theme of Queer Joy.

In this relaxed session, you’ll look at a few different approaches to how you could write about Queer Joy, experimenting with voice and imagery, inspired by interesting poets. There will be some chill writing time at the end to explore what’s resonated with you the most.

Holly Thorpe is a performance poet and part of the VoiceboxWxm collective. Holly has performed at events across the UK including The Big Gay Poetry Night: Mamma Queer, One Mic Stand, and during her time as a Young Curator for Hive in collaboration with the Forward Prizes. Her work is often drawn to strange, funny and fractured points of connection — and root vegetables.
