Heather Chapman Verve Poetry’s poem of the month
Each month, Verve Poetry Festival interview a poet behind Poem of the Month, their rolling competition for the poetry community. In September, that poem was ‘Unsent Letter as a Means of Transmutation’ by Heather Chapman, a new recruit for Squad 12. Of the poem Heather said ‘I was interested in the role of traditional anniversary gifts (e.g. giving a paper item after one year together) in marking time: how pairing a number of years with a material lends time a tangible quality.’
