Louise Essex is a poet and songwriter from Hertfordshire, performing as Dear Wife. She studied English at the University of York, where she joined the Writing Squad. Since completing her MA at UCL, she has lived in Paris, Barcelona, Nice, Brighton and London. Her poetry has been published by The Poetry Business, Banshee, Under the Radar, Butcher's Dog and Lighthouse. She works as a songwriter, creative facilitator and teacher. Her folk music pairs clear, ethereal vocals with finger-style acoustic guitar. She is currently working on her debut EP.
